But at $54.99 (the sale price as of 2 Dec 2011), this was not meant to be.
While searching my fav blogs, I found a great post from Thrifty Decor Chick, which inspired me even more!
Using wine bottles I already had (because you never know when you will be inspired to do a new wine bottle project!), I created my version....
Supplies
Wine bottles (or any glass bottle) - No cost (recycled)
Hot glue
Project Instructions
Soak the bottles to remove the labels and dry.
Starting at the top, wrap the jute around the bottle, tucking it under itself. Continue wrapping to hide its "tail" and dot with hot glue.
Then, wrap as you are inspired to! I love the green glass of the wine bottle, so I spun the jute down on some of the versions to let the light shine through. Dot with hot glue to hold the jute in place.
When you get to the bottom, loop the jute under itself to lock it in place.
I also used an empty olive oil bottle and an old honey bottle for other versions. Any glass bottle you find interesting works great! These bottles have raised letters on them, so it creates a more antique look, I think.I love the color and texture of the jute!
Enjoy more!
